The Board of Trustees features an accomplished group of individuals with expertise in education, arts, law, and business. They bring a broad range of experience and serve as the authoritative body over policy and administration.
MOHAN BOODRAM, CHAIR, QUINCY
Mr. Boodram is Associate Dean for Enrollment and Student Services at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
FREDERICK J. KEATOR, VICE CHAIR, LENOX
Mr. Keator is Managing Partner of the Keator Group, LLC, a nationally recognized wealth management firm.
JOHN BARRETT III, NORTH ADAMS
Mr. Barrett is the state representative for the 1st Berkshire district. A former 13-term Mayor, he is the first MCLA graduate to serve as Mayor of North Adams. He is a longtime supporter of MCLA and has been a strong advocate for public higher education in Massachusetts.
BRENDA BURDICK, ADAMS
Ms. Burdick is the Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications for General Dynamics Mission Systems.
JEAN CLARKE-MITCHELL, LEE
Dr. Clarke-Mitchell is an Assistant Professor of Social Work with Lesley University in Cambridge, MA.
BUFFY LORD, ESQ., '98
Ms. Lord, the alumni representative to the Board, is a practicing attorney with Donovan O’Connor & Dodig, LLP of North Adams, MA. Licensed in Massachusetts and Vermont, her main practice area is civil litigation alongside multiple practice areas, including personal injury and workers’ compensation, domestic relations, municipal law, and appellate work.
DENISE MARSHALL '81, HINSDALE
Ms. Marshall, now retired, formerly served as Executive Vice President of Adams Community Bank based in Adams, MA.
FRANKLYN REYNOLDS, AVON, CT
Mr. Reynolds is president and CEO of UIL Holdings Corporation, the AVANGRID subsidiary that oversees its natural gas and electric companies in Connecticut and Massachusetts, including Berkshire Gas Company.
DARLENE RODOWICZ
Ms. Rodowicz is President and CEO of Berkshire Health Systems (BHS) and a lifelong resident of Berkshire County. She has dedicated her career to advancing the health and well-being of the community, having served for years as chair of both the Berkshire Community College Board of Trustees and the Hoosac Valley Regional School Committee.
DR. YVONNE SPICER H'16, FRAMINGHAM
Dr. Spicer is the Executive Director of Life Science Cares, Boston, and an adjunct lecturer at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Dr. Spicer was the first mayor of Framingham, serving from January 1, 2018, to January 1, 2022. In 2016, MCLA conferred an honorary doctorate of humanities on Dr. Spicer at its 117th Commencement exercises.
