Outdoor Leadership Minor
The Outdoor Leadership Minor teaches students how to safely organize outdoor programming and become familiar with the ecology of natural habitats to maximize their effectiveness as naturalist interpreters. Required courses include Intro to Outdoor Leadership, community first aid and safety, and an internship. Students also select electives that focus on the nature of New England, ornithology, field botany, entomology, environmental justice, and more. These courses take advantage of the vast protected areas surrounding MCLA, which are our "outdoor classroom." Students completing the outdoor leadership minor experience personal growth and expanded professional opportunities in environmental education and adventure programming.
